Recently, there have been media reports that developers have reduced the prices of properties during the May Day holiday, resulting in fines from the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and a notice stating that this action disrupts the market.
So, on one hand, they keep saying that they want to make housing affordable for the people, but on the other hand, they don't allow price reductions. I wonder if this inconsistency is a manifestation of their true intentions? As a result, the credibility of the government has been greatly diminished in the eyes of the people in the past year or two, and the lack of trust in the government is becoming a new trend among the public. And all of this seems to be closely related to the actions of some officials in power.
For example, Tesla publicly reduced its prices, but in the end, due to a document from the Beijing Daily, Tesla had to increase its prices. So, is the goal to make housing affordable for the people or not? This is a question.
In mainland China, the average monthly expenditure is 80% of income, which is equivalent to a monthly income of 5000 yuan. Almost 70% of this amount goes towards loan repayments, including mortgage payments and car loans. The remaining 30% is for daily expenses. Just think about it, with 5000 yuan, 3500 yuan is paid to the bank every month. 1500 yuan is left for daily living expenses. Is 1500 yuan enough to live on? No, it's not enough. If you work outside, assuming the minimum rent is 500 yuan, you have 1000 yuan left. What can you do with this 1000 yuan? It's possible to spend it all in less than half a month. If you get sick, you will have to rely on online loans for consumption. Day after day, year after year, although the people are working every year, they have loans that they can never fully repay. Therefore, for young people, it is simply impossible to get married and buy a house because they have to spend at least 10% more than their monthly income, and this 10% is still a loan. With a monthly salary of 5000 yuan, they have to borrow 1000 yuan from online loans every month to maintain basic living expenses. In this way, even normal living is difficult. If you exclude loan repayments, a person's normal living expenses, living frugally, would still require at least 2000 to 3000 yuan per month. Saving 40,000 yuan in a year is not even possible. In 20 years, it would only amount to 800,000 yuan. And during these 20 years, there can be no accidents, such as serious illness or unexpected events. If they occur, there will be no source of income during that time.
Therefore, in mainland China, there are tricks that come out year after year, such as the one-child policy. If you can't even solve the basic problems of the people, what is the point of having a second or third child? In the eyes of the government, the people have become machines to help them rise to power, but the young people today don't believe, don't listen, and are indifferent. These politicians cannot control them. So, encouraging people to have children, if you can't even solve the basic problems, such as housing, employment, entrepreneurship, and increasing income, how can you raise and educate children? It seems that these politicians never think about these issues. They can only use their power to do whatever they want, making the people's lives unbearable.
Therefore, if you are not close to the people, the people will not wait for you. If you do not love the people, the people will not support you. Being close to the people and loving the people, improving the people's income, and eliminating the bad officialdom, I believe the people will naturally feel the benefits from the bottom of their hearts. If the people cannot feel a sense of security, having children and getting married is impossible.
Reducing the burden is not just about cracking down on extracurricular training. It needs to be fundamentally solved. The problem lies in the education system. If there are no problems in the education system, where does extracurricular training come from? Therefore, all actions that involve the use of power are not the fundamental way to promote economic development. Instead, they should allow the people to make their own decisions about their livelihoods. The government's role is to rectify its own systems, such as the education system, healthcare system, and human resources system. When it comes to the autonomy of the people, for example, in rural areas, the people have the right to use their own homesteads without government intervention. The government has the obligation to provide guidance for farming, but it does not have the power to control farmers' farming activities. Therefore, reducing housing prices, increasing people's income, encouraging self-reliance, not restricting innovation, providing guidance instead of one-size-fits-all solutions, activating people's autonomy - these are the things that the government should do to protect the interests of the people and strike a balance between business and the public, rather than focusing solely on capitalizing the economy.
